Memphis TN. and more

Hello friends, tonight we were in Memphis TN @ The Side Door. After a radio phone interview with our good friends at Yes-FM in Toledo OH, we loaded into a venue called The Side door. It was a great little venue. Here are some of our high lights of the night:

One:
The Guys tonight out sang the girls and yes if you know how we end our set you would know that Guys usually don't sing it like they mean it. So, way to go guys, maybe the girls in St. Lois can redeem themselves.
Two:
Tonight in the Greenroom they served us with some really great Bar-B-Q & Memphis style Bar-B-Q Ribs.
Three:
With all of our & Jeremy's equipment it takes up all of the space in our trailer so Evan was the master packer tonight and we had a perfect packed trailer.
Four:
Ska came back with one of the bands that played with us tonight. There bringing it back baby.
Five:
Last but not least we had really good sound dude he was 19 years old and he went beyond the call of duty. So thanks Ben we appreciate it.

Memphis thanks for a great night.
Until Next Time.

A Shirt Party

Although I am not happy with the score I will say thank you God for Clemson Tigers. 23-21 Clemson wins. Sounds to me like there will be a Clemson shirt party at one of the Chasen band sound check parties. For any one who wants to see Aaron (drums) Evan (GTR) Clint (Bass) Jon (manager) wear a Clemson shirt come to a chasen show near you.
I love you boys.

What About The Turkey?

So it's Saturday Nov. 24th and man I feel full. The average person eats 4000 to 5000 calories on Thanksgiving day. Well I have to say I didn't fail at that. I was so full as usual. The thing that i forgot to do was eat turkey. It was on my plate but I just realized out of all those calories i ate there were no turkey. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and accomplished there 4000 to 5000 calorie intake. Now don't let that sit and settle, get out and exercise.

"Life's a garden, dig it."

I worked at a church for about 8.5 years. Growing and making my self available for ministry and people. Being a volunteer or being paid full time I've seen both sides. I have to say that now that I'm a full time musician touring the country I look back and miss some parts of the church. I remember people leaving the church saying, "I just don't get anything out of the preaching." Well after hearing a lot of really good speakers along the way I got the chance to go back to the church that I was apart of this past Sunday. I sat with friends of my wifes and I. It truly was refreshing. I'm used the teaching of a little deeper than Topical teachers/preachers. So as I sat there and listen to the message I started questioning why was I having a hard time following what the speaker was saying. Everything he said maid sense I was just not following. Was I becoming one of the ones who leaves cause they didn't get anything out of the message? The title of the message was "Getting the most out of life" and he used a video from this professor at a college who was giving 2 months to live but he was healthier than any of us in the room. It was very touching and very heart felt. The professor said "Experience is what you get not what you want". So true to todays society. So I did get something out of the message so I knew I wasn't one of those people who left just because their not getting anything out of the message. My wife and I got in the car and I began to tell her my frustration not with the speaker but with me. She said something to me that I wish so bad I could have said to the ones who left because of the message. She said "It's not the speaker or preachers job to give you a garden. He is there to give you a seed to plant, go home read more dig a little deeper and plant a garden." Wow! That hit me so hard, I was always expecting a garden when really I was given a seed and not planting it. Styles of preaching are very different and there are lots of them out there. When it comes to getting something out of a message on personal level it's not up to the speaker/preacher to give you the whole garden. "Life's a garden, dig it."

Comfortable You

When you feel so comfortable with something or someone you cant get rid of the thought of not being comfortable with them.

You took me in for a ride
You said that you didn’t mind
By the look in your eyes you’ve got me there on your mind
What happen to us back then
When our love wasn’t pretend
We both knew it all started with
You pulled me into a place you knew a place you knew that I’d be comfortable
I can’t deny it that I didn’t mind it I didn’t mind being comfortable with you.
You led me on and you said,
I didn’t care but I did
Another puzzle piece forced but we knew that it wouldn’t fit
Only 5 years ago
I gave you my heart to hold
Can’t comprehend the end so we go back to
You pulled me into a place you knew a place you knew that I’d be comfortable
I can’t deny it that I didn’t mind it I didn’t mind being comfortable with you.

Baby's, Paint, & Hatred

So my wife took a trip to Orlando FL. this week. As everyone knows we are expecting a baby in May. So of course everything is starting to come together, Painting, new furniture, baby cloths, etc... So she and I picked out this color for the living room and I decided to paint the living room for her while she was gone. I figured well one of my buds will help me. Ok I found out real quick no one likes to paint. I was stuck doing it by myself. I called my brother who was having some kidney problems to see if he was feeling well enough to come over and help. My brother is a trooper first of all, he is the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off his back. He met me after he worked all day and then cut grass and still came over and helped me. So thank you Chance for helping me and giving me the time you did. It was good getting to hang with you. So I finished around 12:00pm. I went and picked Casey up from the airport and brought her home and she loved the paint for the first ten minutes. We sat on our couch and we both hate the paint. I left the tape around the edges so now I've got to go out and buy new paint and redo it. So Chance if your reading this I guess I'll get to have some more hang time with you. I HATE PAINTING! and it's just started

Love is invincible

Song Of Songs 8:6-7

Hang my locket around your neck,
wear my ring on your finger.
Love is invincible facing danger and death.
Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.
The fire of love stops at nothing, it sweeps
everything before it.
Flood waters can't drown love,
torrents of rain can't put it out.
Love can't be bought, love can't be sold
it's not to be found in the marketplace.
