Music That Surrounds Us
So this movie my wife took me to tonight. I have to say it's by far one of my favorite movies. I have heard by some locals that say it's awful, I disagree. This movie is made from a deep writers point of you. People who just like music will not like this movie. It takes a special person to appreciate this film. I thought the actors and actresses were great, they played their roles as written. I give it a 5 out of 5. I will say there is a part at the front where this kid is playing an acoustic guitar and then it's the same guitar but it sounds like an electric. Of course it's Hollywood anythings possible. Go see the movie if you are about music not being just about noise but how it's a reminder from God that there's more to the world than just living day after day. It reminds us that music surrounds us for a purpose that leads our paths together.

Friday Day/Night Movie
Tonight Casey and I took our nephew to see Alvin & The Chipmunks new movie. I have to say I was just excited as he was to see it. We left about 3:30pm today to see it. 3 theaters and 4 hours later we got to see it. All the theaters that was showing this movie was sold out until 7:30pm. After the movie I felt like a kid again. The only thing I didn't like about the film was it didn't show Christmas enough. It is well worth seeing. Here's a little trailer below just in case you never saw it.

"Highway Eyes"
New songs are on the way. As I ride and look at the world through my "Highway Eyes" I notice how beautiful but how dark the world truly is. So needless to say I have found a new way of writing. Here's a little taste:
Drinking To Breathe (The Flood)
By: Chasen Callahan
So Many years to make this city few short years will tell it all
How it fell and how it marks the place where all the sinners march
O yes the few short years will tell it all.
Cause
The Flood swept through these empty sex filled streets
And the night grew long as the water rose
Now as I walked these streets my heart nearly skips a beat
Cause their in over there heads but they’re still drinking to breath
After all the devastation the land was filled with looting and poverty
Their skewed minds lead to tents outside where they choose to live, live there lives against mans rules
Cause
The Flood swept through these empty sex filled streets
And the night grew long as the water rose
Now as I walked these streets my heart nearly skips a beat
Cause their in over there heads but they’re still drinking to breath
What do you say to a broke down heart that once was alive but now is torn apart.
What do you say to a beat down soul that once was young but now is old?
the flood that forever haunts there dreams & makes our God the one they hate/ o what do you say.
Cause
The Flood swept through these empty sex filled streets
And the night grew long as the water rose
Now as I walked these streets my heart nearly skips a beat
Cause their in over there heads but they’re still drinking to breath
Sweep in sweep in water sweep in and wash the streets clean
Make these bitter souls pure again

A Little Under The Weather In 4 States
Well my friends I have to say that I am under the weather. Me being a southern boy, I can't handle the cold northern snowy weather. we hit St Lois and from there on out it was all down hill. We played at a place called the crave and it was a cool little place to play we had some fans drive 1 hour to see us play. It was great we had a chance to make new friends and bring people closer home for Christmas. From there we drove through the night to Pawnee IL for the next morning. We really appreciated the worship service and the message that morning it's always good to have somewhere to go and hear the message and get fed. We left there and drove through the night to Toledo OH. We had an on air interview the next morning with Yes FM, what a great radio satiation. We had a lot of great response from the interview and we realized that we are really loved by the Yes FM listeners. We had a show that night in Walbridge OH at the Grounded Gourmet Coffee shop. We had some great ribs at Chris and his wifes (the owners) house. We also got to spend some quality time with John from WMUZ in Detroit, he drove down to hear us play. At the coffee shop people were lined up waiting to get in from the bitter cold and the place was packed. It was a great night and it will be one of those nights we will remember. We had a show last night in Grundy VA, what a place. On the drive over the mountains we laughed our heads off. We saw a horse from the outside eating inside a trailer and on the other side there was a car that had drove through the trailer. Once we got into Grundy it was a little better but they are doing some major construction in the city and when I say construction I mean they are rebuilding the whole city. We had fun and we are ready to go. So I know this was a little longer blog than usual but I had a lot to say. If you know any ideas on how to get rid of this nasal congestion please leave a comment below. Well until next time.

Memphis TN. and more
Hello friends, tonight we were in Memphis TN @ The Side Door. After a radio phone interview with our good friends at Yes-FM in Toledo OH, we loaded into a venue called The Side door. It was a great little venue. Here are some of our high lights of the night:
One:
The Guys tonight out sang the girls and yes if you know how we end our set you would know that Guys usually don't sing it like they mean it. So, way to go guys, maybe the girls in St. Lois can redeem themselves.
Two:
Tonight in the Greenroom they served us with some really great Bar-B-Q & Memphis style Bar-B-Q Ribs.
Three:
With all of our & Jeremy's equipment it takes up all of the space in our trailer so Evan was the master packer tonight and we had a perfect packed trailer.
Four:
Ska came back with one of the bands that played with us tonight. There bringing it back baby.
Five:
Last but not least we had really good sound dude he was 19 years old and he went beyond the call of duty. So thanks Ben we appreciate it.
Memphis thanks for a great night.
Until Next Time.

What About The Turkey?
So it's Saturday Nov. 24th and man I feel full. The average person eats 4000 to 5000 calories on Thanksgiving day. Well I have to say I didn't fail at that. I was so full as usual. The thing that i forgot to do was eat turkey. It was on my plate but I just realized out of all those calories i ate there were no turkey. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and accomplished there 4000 to 5000 calorie intake. Now don't let that sit and settle, get out and exercise.

"Life's a garden, dig it."
I worked at a church for about 8.5 years. Growing and making my self available for ministry and people. Being a volunteer or being paid full time I've seen both sides. I have to say that now that I'm a full time musician touring the country I look back and miss some parts of the church. I remember people leaving the church saying, "I just don't get anything out of the preaching." Well after hearing a lot of really good speakers along the way I got the chance to go back to the church that I was apart of this past Sunday. I sat with friends of my wifes and I. It truly was refreshing. I'm used the teaching of a little deeper than Topical teachers/preachers. So as I sat there and listen to the message I started questioning why was I having a hard time following what the speaker was saying. Everything he said maid sense I was just not following. Was I becoming one of the ones who leaves cause they didn't get anything out of the message? The title of the message was "Getting the most out of life" and he used a video from this professor at a college who was giving 2 months to live but he was healthier than any of us in the room. It was very touching and very heart felt. The professor said "Experience is what you get not what you want". So true to todays society. So I did get something out of the message so I knew I wasn't one of those people who left just because their not getting anything out of the message. My wife and I got in the car and I began to tell her my frustration not with the speaker but with me. She said something to me that I wish so bad I could have said to the ones who left because of the message. She said "It's not the speaker or preachers job to give you a garden. He is there to give you a seed to plant, go home read more dig a little deeper and plant a garden." Wow! That hit me so hard, I was always expecting a garden when really I was given a seed and not planting it. Styles of preaching are very different and there are lots of them out there. When it comes to getting something out of a message on personal level it's not up to the speaker/preacher to give you the whole garden. "Life's a garden, dig it."

Comfortable You
When you feel so comfortable with something or someone you cant get rid of the thought of not being comfortable with them.
You took me in for a ride
You said that you didn’t mind
By the look in your eyes you’ve got me there on your mind
What happen to us back then
When our love wasn’t pretend
We both knew it all started with
You pulled me into a place you knew a place you knew that I’d be comfortable
I can’t deny it that I didn’t mind it I didn’t mind being comfortable with you.
You led me on and you said,
I didn’t care but I did
Another puzzle piece forced but we knew that it wouldn’t fit
Only 5 years ago
I gave you my heart to hold
Can’t comprehend the end so we go back to
You pulled me into a place you knew a place you knew that I’d be comfortable
I can’t deny it that I didn’t mind it I didn’t mind being comfortable with you.

Baby's, Paint, & Hatred
So my wife took a trip to Orlando FL. this week. As everyone knows we are expecting a baby in May. So of course everything is starting to come together, Painting, new furniture, baby cloths, etc... So she and I picked out this color for the living room and I decided to paint the living room for her while she was gone. I figured well one of my buds will help me. Ok I found out real quick no one likes to paint. I was stuck doing it by myself. I called my brother who was having some kidney problems to see if he was feeling well enough to come over and help. My brother is a trooper first of all, he is the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off his back. He met me after he worked all day and then cut grass and still came over and helped me. So thank you Chance for helping me and giving me the time you did. It was good getting to hang with you. So I finished around 12:00pm. I went and picked Casey up from the airport and brought her home and she loved the paint for the first ten minutes. We sat on our couch and we both hate the paint. I left the tape around the edges so now I've got to go out and buy new paint and redo it. So Chance if your reading this I guess I'll get to have some more hang time with you. I HATE PAINTING! and it's just started

Love is invincible
Song Of Songs 8:6-7
Hang my locket around your neck,
wear my ring on your finger.
Love is invincible facing danger and death.
Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.
The fire of love stops at nothing, it sweeps
everything before it.
Flood waters can't drown love,
torrents of rain can't put it out.
Love can't be bought, love can't be sold
it's not to be found in the marketplace.

From Religious performance to a channel of leadership.
These are some verses that are good for Leaders.
Good Leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to what every ends he chooses. Proverbs 21:1
This totally is a verse for worship leaders. if you ever think that it's about you. Be very sensitive to Gods voice when it comes to leadership.
Religious performance by the wicked stinks it's even worse when they use it to get ahead. Proverbs 21:27
If you stop your ears to the cries of the poor, our cries will go unheard and unanswered. Proverbs 21:13
We justify our actions by appearances; God examines our motives Proverbs 21:2

Steve Fee & Friends O HAPPY DAY!
Last night was a night I needed to happen. Casey (my wife) and I went to see Steve Fee at Anderson University. It was in a theater that only sat around 250 seats. So it was really intimate setting. I have never seen Steve Fee live before but I have done a lot of his songs in a worship setting or on the road so I was real excited to see him. I have to say that I was blown away. A lot of people may not agree because they are not into the style of worship he dose but for me it was something that I've been needing. When your out on the road you are giving yourself away to the broken and the people who just need to talk. so when you get the chance to experience what they experience you become very humbled and fulfilled. Steve Fee is more than a worship leader to me he was a pastor. When I left I felt like I left a church service. After words Evan Silver, Bryan Holder, and I were looking at all the equipment and Steve's band was extremely nice and wanted to know more about us. Steve Fee came up and we began to talk to him about worship the road and label talk. It was good to hear that he is in the same position that I am in with his career. Time is everything. Patients is were Successes begins. If you ever get the chance to see Steve Fee live in concert please go see him you want regret it. I was dead before Christ but now that we have relationship with him I now am alive, O HAPPY DAY!

RadioJDRFStonebridgechurch&brookwoodchurch week!
So here I am on a Monday morning just doing a little work from bed and I start thinking about what I did this past week. I realize that I have an excuse to be tired. Last week I joined up with my radio promoter (Chris Hauser) and two other artist Jeremy Horn and Nate Huss. We hit the road in Nashville TN and went to over 10 states and 18 stations all in 5 days. our schedule look like this: 5:15am wake up call on radio at 7:45-8:00am leave around 9:00 get in the van drive 2 to 3 hrs. to another state eat lunch with a radio station and then get in the van and drive to another state which was about 3 to 4 hrs away to either eat dinner or we were on air by 4 or 5 eat dinner and drive to the next sate to sleep for 5 or 6 hrs to get up and do the very same routine again. But I have to say we made great connection and got picked up on some stations (song nothing Like You) and got to eat lunch on Lake Michigan. (to tired to remember it but I do a little). I got home about 2am Saturday woke up at 6:15am a went to the JDRF walk to cure diabetes. My wife works there so I went to help her and get things going. I left around 10am or so and came home took a 15 min nap and left to go rehearse with Chasen band. At around 5:30 the Stone Bridge Church crew came and we set everything up for the next morning for our first day at Stone Bridge Church. (which was awesome) I woke up at 6:15am and went and led worship at stone bridge then went to Brookwood church in Simpsonville SC and did a show which was incredible whole other blog though. Got home around 10:30pm or 11pm, a real early night actually and crashed to find my self in bed this morning writing this blog. sorry for such a long and detailed blog just needed to write it out. Well I'm going to go and chill out for a little bit. I found out as they say in Oklahoma, good buy.

"A Song For Daisy"
Healing a Broken Heart – There is a reason
Once there was a young man who proclaimed to have the most beautiful, flawless heart. An old man challenged him. The crowd looked at the old man’s heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars. Some pieces had been removed and others had been put in, but didn’t fit quite right. The old man looked at the young man, “I would never trade my heart for yours. Every scar represents a person I’ve given my love -- I tear out a piece and give it to them. Sometimes they give me a piece of their broken heart, which I fit along jagged edges. When the person doesn’t return my love, a painful gouge is left. Those gouges stay open, reminding me that I love these people too. Perhaps someday they will return and fill that space.”
We all know that emotions are a vital part of the way we are made. Yet we can’t understand why it takes so long to heal from emotional injuries. We would never prematurely remove a cast or sutures until the broken bone or skin was fully restored. We must realize complete emotional healing requires time. The book of Psalms offers great comfort when experiencing long-term emotions like sadness, fear, and grief. “He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
I think a broken heart is part of life, even Christ went through it. I wrote a song called "A Song For Daisy". When ever you have a broken heart I encourage you like I encourage Daisy, don't let go and don't lose hope. You will be and you are loved tonight always remember that. Like I said before “God heals the brokenhearted” (Psalm 147:3).

The Most Exciting 25 Seconds In All Of College Football."
My grandfather was a huge Clemson fan because of the rock. I remember sitting on the hill watching them rub the rock and run down the hill. Here's the story of how it all began.
Ohio State dots the "i." Tennessee runs through the "T." Texas A&M has midnight yell practice. Florida State has Chief Osceola, Renegade and a flaming spear.
But few college football traditions generate as much excitement and pageantry as Clemson's players rubbing Howard's Rock and running down the Hill before each home game at Memorial Stadium.
"It's very emotional going up there," Tigers running back C.J. Spiller said. "You know it's game time when you get on the bus and go up there and rub that rock."
The Rock
It has been said that there is "no place louder or more picturesque than Death Valley." And if you can't be there, there's no better way to experience it than with our technology. Check out our 360-degree look at Howard's Rock.
• Zoom: Howard's Rock | The Hill
The Tigers began the tradition of running down the Hill, which sits above the east end zone, in 1942. The tradition began because of necessity more than anything else. The shortest walk from the team's dressing room in Fike Fieldhouse to the stadium was to walk down Williamson Road and enter a gate underneath, where the stadium's large scoreboard now stands.
Legend has it that in either 1964 or 1965, S.C. Jones, a Clemson alumnus, made a trip to California. While driving through Death Valley, he stopped and picked up a large, white flint rock.
The following season, Howard told his players "If you're going to give me 110 percent, you can rub that rock. If you're not, keep your filthy hands off of it."
The rock soon became "Howard's Rock" and a Clemson tradition was born.
Clemson has done it prior to every home game except during 2½ seasons in the early 1970s. When Hootie Ingram succeeded Howard as coach prior to the 1970 season, Ingram decided his teams would make their entrance out of the west end zone, instead of running down the hill.
The Tigers followed Ingram's route before each home game in 1970 and 1971 and the first four home games in 1972. Clemson went 6-9 at Memorial Stadium during that stretch. Clemson's players voted to run down the hill prior to the South Carolina game in 1972, and they beat the Gamecocks 7-6.
The Tigers have been running down the hill ever since. Clemson has won more than 70 percent of its home games.
After warm-ups, Clemson retreats to its locker room in the west end of the stadium for final instructions from coaches. About 10 minutes before kickoff, the players climb aboard two buses and make their way around the north stands to the east end zone.
The Tigers then crowd the entrance to the stadium and more than 80,000 fans rise to their feet in anticipation. The public address announcer tells the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen, you are about to witness … the most exciting 25 seconds in all of college football."
A cannon booms, the players descend down the hill, each one touching Howard's Rock, and they run through two lines formed by the school's marching band.
"It's definitely different when you're playing," Tigers quarterback Cullen Harper said. "As a redshirt freshman, I was just out there excited and having a good time. But as a player, you rub that rock and it definitely means a lot. The tradition behind it, knowing guys in the past [have done it]." Spiller says it's a tradition like no other in college football."I'm usually the last one that rubs the rock," Spiller said. "It's something that I always did in high school, being the last one on the field. The rock is a tradition here. It's been here for a long time, and to be part of that tradition is great. Other colleges don't have that."
