Ok so me and my boys from the band Chasen are on the way home from a show in ATL. We have decided to throw in the rag on Vinny Vandura. (our van) We get up to 60mph and it starts shuttering our brains out. Ha Ha we made a joke about it but little did we know what would happen at 3:00am. We’ve been riding for about an hour and a half and we heard some rubbish under the van but we thought it was the road and the van shuttering. I’m trying to keep my eyes open to help JD our manager stay awake and not swerve off the road. Not because he is a bad driver it’s because our van is of devil. Any way I open my eyes and I see we are close to a town near ours and Wam! Boom! Bang! That’s right Flat Tire. The rubbish under the van all that time was pieces of the tire. Well I know what your thinking, just get out and fix it. Well that’s easier said than done. We get out and our door breaks for the 50th time and we cant find our lug wrench. We have a jack a spare tire but not a lug wrench. Have I mentioned that it’s one of the coldest nights of the year and we don’t have any heat in the van. I call and wake up a friend of mine Bryan Holder and I really don’t know what I will say cause it is 3:00am but I tell him the story. He says call *HP for help. Well that leads me to where I am now writing. Waiting on the HP people to be our Hero. I really hope that a bunch of computers nerds don’t show up. (HP People, Ha!) To leave you I will say one last thing. As the van is running to have some motor heat we are on the red line on our gas gage. We arrive in Greenville SC. at 5:45am. We recommend a lug wrench or a redneck.

Words From The Green Room
Patience is the ability to endure waiting, delay, or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset, or to persevere calmly when faced with difficulties.
I wish that I could have more patience. Each day I try not to get my hopes on anything. Waiting for my big break and I'm waiting for the world to change, wait that sounds like a John Mayer song. Any way, we are about to play a show in Atlanta and I have to say we went back to the western days. I guess with a name like Smiths Ole Bar you have to take it for what it is. I do know that it is freezing in our dressing room I feel like I’ve been walking through snow for 30 min. We heard a joke at this venue, want to hear it, hear it go. What has one arm and sucks.... Def Leopard. My apologies, I don't listen to Def Leopard much but I just thought it was funny. There’s no telling what you might here in the green room.

Giving Props Where Props Are Due.
Now that I am getting a lot of response to the Dance Dance video I have to give props to my friend Steve-o. He showed me two videos that day on you tube and this was the one that was funny and the second I have to say that I regret those five minutes of my life. Thank you steve-o for all that you showed me.

This Is What Your Doing This Is What I Need You To Do.
"When I look into the face of discipline and see only punishment, there will only be fear. Yet, when I look at it and see love or when I look at its fruits and find wisdom, they drive out that fear. Will consequences be uncomfortable? You bet. But when we allow it to work in us and it forms us to become a better follower of Christ, only then do we take steps closer towards being made perfect in love." (Dan Wunderlich) I read this when I was going through a time when I realized sometimes we have to face the consequences and we really don't want to. I'm under the impression that God has a way of showing you where you need to go without throwing you out. God is a God of multiple chances but we can't abuse that. I don't fear the consequences, I fear of the thought that I disappointed God. When God shows up it is evident. Maybe you are in the situation right now, I know from experience pray that God shows up. Just as God appeared to Paul and said this is what your doing this is what I need you to do, that’s me paraphrasing but you get it. Hope this is an encouragement to you. Stay strong Dawg.

NUMB: THE PAIN UNDERNEATH.
Well here we are not feeling anything.
The definition of NUMB is: (verb) Deprive of feeling or responsiveness. What makes us feel so numb? Numb toward what though. Certain things make you feel numb physically and not affecting your talk. Just as you are when seating down in ice water you start off cold but you feel this warm tingling feeling after a few minuets. Although you are cold your brain tells you your body is warming because it is numb, it numbs the pain. Although we might be numb toward a best friend, your parents, wife, husband, etc.. The pain starts to settle deep down and you know that you have become NUMB over time. NUMB, not fixing the problem just relaxing the pain for now. I know I need to let it go because I would rather hurt for a little while and forgive and forget than be numb and still have the pain underneath.

CRASH!!!
They’re something to say for arriving at a destination all in one peace. Last year at this same time we had a very bad car accident on the way to perform at a conference. A drunk driver hit us going 90 MPH destroying everything in the trailer and in the Tahoe. By the grace of God everyone walked away from the Tahoe with minor injuries. But this year we arrived safe and ready to go, new van and all (special thanks to Edwin McCain). We even stop at the same gas station and everything still no damage. Well I did mess up our running board on our van, but I got on my back on the cold ground and fixed it. That’s right me Chasen Callahan fixed something on a car, not only a car but a van, a big van, big big van, ok you get it. I guess God has a funny sense of humor sometimes.

If I Could Only Read
These are the days we live in where trials and pain become our medicine.
Expecting the world but we're given a continent.
Words are contagious as desires lead us into discontentment.
We're wasting our dreams for a quick minutes.

Life At The Intersection
Where Do I go from here stuck in a rut and waiting for my rescue? A red light flashes before me but I take off. "Am I not obeying the rules or am I asking for a disaster." I clench up push back in my seat and wait for the results. We're not always promised another intersection. Your choice, stop think and wait for the green or go and risk your life, career, relationship. "Life begins at the intersection."

YOUR RESOLUTION?????
Surprising I've had a great year, not too many bad things have happen to me. I can’t complain. I was thinking about this New Year resolution thing and how it works. But I do have a question, if you haven’t succeeded with your resolution from the prior year do you take that resolution into the New Year or do you start brand new. Please comment and let me know what you all think. I hope this finds you doing well and as I drink my French vanilla coffee and look back I say "good job chasen" (Silence) whelp back to work.

A Redneck Christmas
It's Christmas Eve and my wife and I are at my parents’ house out in the boondocks. We have this tradition of shooting fireworks with my family every Christmas Eve Night. So I did the Simi manly thing and went out and got the explosives. My brother was AT HOME MAKING HOMEMADE EXPLOSIVES, seriously. When that thing went off it was like an earthquake. Here's a visual. It was like the birds all at once look up and take off flying. Needless to say it was LOUD!!!! Well if that wasn’t Redneck enough just wait. Across the street this nice family where tucking there kids in bed when the big homemade bomb went off. They said they thought Santa’s reindeer took a wrong turn or something. They said it was like “Santa done went through the roof.” (Ha! Ha!) I could imagine their kids reading the night before Christmas and then BOOM!!!! “GOOD LORD”!!!! “What was that,” (Kids) "Mommy is Santa hurt. Any way I have to say everyone must witness a redneck Christmas once in his or her life. Hope all is good and relaxing.
